"We are banning shark fin carriage effective immediately as we learned that unsustainable shark fishing and our carriage of shark fin is not aligned with our position on sustainable development," Cebu Pacific said in the statement.

The airline, which is owned by the Gokongwei family, an ethnic Chinese clan with several business interests from real estate to food processing, took the advocacy one step further also stating that it would no longer serve shark fin soup at any corporate events.

Cebu Pacific becomes the second carrier in the Philippines to ban shark fin shipments after Philippine Airlines decided to ban shipments last April after a report surfaced that the national flag carrier had flown 6.8 tons of illegal products from Dubai to Hong Kong.

Several airlines have announced that they would no longer participate in the transportation of shark fins after major international advocacy groups mounted extensive campaigns to end the consumption of these controversial delicacies.

The shark fins are commonly used in expensive Chinese soups and served at significant events. However, conservationists have warned that the demand for shark fins have triggered overfishing with several shark species now considered endangered.

We'd state THURSO SURF Lightning 42'' Bodyboard Package PE Core IXPE Deck HDPE Slick Bottom Durable Lightweight Includes Double Stainless Steel Swivels Leash and LUX Bodyboard Bag is the bestboard out there for typical buyers, under 6 feet. It offers fantastic features and is particularly strong appreciation to the twofold stringer. Moreover, the pack makes it easy to pass on churchill fins,
