Cebu Pacific Selects Recaro Ergonomic Seating for A321 Fleet

Cebu Pacific, the nation's largest low-cost carrier, is slated to become the first carrier in the Asia-Pacific region to operate aircraft configured with Recaro SL3510 ergonomic seating. The carrier plans to use the seating on its new fleet of thirty Airbus A321neo aircraft.

The Recaro SL3510 seat is currently one of the lightest economy-class seats available on the market weighing approximately 9 kilograms, which is around 40 percent less than conventional economy class seating.

The ergonomic seating utilises a thinner and much lighter innovative netting material as opposed to foam, which forms the core of the seat's backrest. Because the backrest is thinner than conventional economy seating, the space between seat rows increases, providing a more spacious environment for passengers. In addition, the netting material ergonomically conforms to the shape of a passenger's spine.

"The ergonomic seats will not only contribute to our valued guests' comfort on-board, but also help us reduce fuel burn with their lightweight, cost-efficient design."

When the new A321 aircraft arrive, the Cebu Pacific fleet will gradually expand to more than 80 aircraft over a five-year period. The A321neo aircraft are due to be delivered between 2017 and 2021. Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific recently accepted delivery of its 36th brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft displaying the carrier's new livery. Cebu Pacific flew thirteen percent more passengers in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the same period last year. Between January and March, the budget carrier's flights were on average 87% full.

    Nice try, Cebu Pathetic. Just because you get new seats does not mean your services will be comfortable to fly on. Money grab fools is what you guys are. Pathetic management and incompetent employees. Has your Manila to Guam service failed yet? I hope it is.

    Good Luck riding on this sardine airline. They will never improve. Mr. Gokongwei doesn't know the true meaning of airline comfort.

Cebu Pacific is not meant for comfort and to advertise a five star full service airline, Cebu Pacific is a cheap low cost airline that is not meant to reach your standards, but to be popular for average people who really don't care about luxury in an airline.

  3. I recently flew Manila - Melbourne on Mr Hong Kong's beloved Cathay Pathetic. Never again!! It was packed with rude, ignorant Chinese who made the entire flight memorable for all the wrong reasons. At least on CEB the pax sleep and don't jabber all night like a pack of caged monkeys

      Please let's not talk about passengers!
      I find it impossible that you would choose to fly 5J a budget airline over CX a 5 star airline.
      You can't compare them as they offer different levels of service.
      And please don't be racist I've had other horrible experience with other passengers of different races and culture from different airlines. You always have the option ask the cabin crew to do something about it.
