Philippine Airlines Unveils New Business Class

Philippine Airlines has unveiled its newest Business Class product to be offered on board its new fleet of Airbus A330-300 HGW aircraft. The carrier will be accepting delivery of seven of these new jets in 2014. The tri-class aircraft will be configured with 18 Business Class seats, 27 Premium Economy seats, and 323 Regular Economy seats. The highlight of the new PAL Business Class is the Equinox 3D seat produced by Sogerma.

The new seats boast a spacious 60-inch seat pitch when upright with the ability to recline to various lounging positions. The seats also carry the ability to recline to a fully flat position for passengers that desire to sleep. When reclined as a bed, it measures 76.8 inches long and 20.6 inches wide.

Each seat offers a number of enhanced features including USB port, in-seat power supply, reading light, seat controls, and ample stowage space. Philippine Airlines has chosen not to provide individual seatback audio-video on demand entertainment units for passengers on its new aircraft. However, Business Class passengers will be provided with mini iPads that have been pre-loaded with a range of content including movies, television shows, music, games, and publications.

The Airbus A330-300 HGW will also be configured with GSM and WiFi capability enabling passengers to browse the internet and make phone calls in-flight using PAL's "iN AiR" connectivity service. However, additional charges will apply. The new aircraft are expected to be deployed on routes to Bangkok, Honolulu, Tokyo Haneda, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Nagoya.
