Cebu Pacific Launches First Direct Flight to Phuket

Cebu Pacific, the largest budget carrier in the Philippines has announced that it will launch a new service to Thailand, the land of smiles. In addition to its regular service to Bangkok, Cebu Pacific will be offering the first ever direct flight between the Philippines and Phuket, Thailand's top tourist destination known for its extensive range of eco-tourism activities and beach resorts.

 Cebu Pacific will be operating it's Airbus A320 fleet on the new route which will be the only direct flight link between the Philippines and Thailand's most popular destination. The flight will be operated three times per week every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
 
Phuket is well known for it various eco-tourism pursuits including elephant trekking, ATV riding, zip lining and white water rafting. Snorkelling and island hopping in the famous Phi Phi Islands, the filming location of 'The Beach' starring Leonard DiCaprio, are just some of the most popular activities. Visitors will love the range of beach activities, restaurants, and nightlife available at Patong Beach. Other popular tours include sea kayaking in ancient caves and visits to James Bond Island.  Cebu Pacific has prided itself on pioneering low cost flights throughout Southeast Asia giving Filipinos greater access to more destinations than ever before. In addition to this new service to Phuket, Cebu Pacific was the first to pioneer flights from Manila to Siem Reap, Hanoi, Kota Kinabalu, and Bali. Phuket is a popular destination for honeymoons, backpacking or even family vacations. When the ASEAN Economic Community opens in 2015-2016, Phuket is expected to become a popular employment spot for Filipino hotel and restaurant workers.
 
The direct flight service will begin on August 16, 2013. Phuket is Cebu Pacific's second destination in Thailand after Bangkok which is currently serviced with 12 weekly flights from Manila and two flights weekly from both Cebu and Clark.
 
Cebu Pacific is anticipating delivery of an additional 51 aircraft between 2013 and 2021. The airline will be launching two additional new flights this summer from its Cebu base with service to Masbate beginning on June 1, 2013 and service to Taipei beginning on July 5, 2013.
