Don't Mess with Filipino Cabin Crew!

Whoever said that the customer is always right apparently never flew Philippine Airlines. A rich Chinese businessman learned the hard way that if you're going to pick on a Filipino, don't do it before you've gained access to the country. Forty-seven year old Biqing Liu boarded Philippine Airlines flight PR337 last week from Shanghai to Manila. Upon the arrival of his flight in Manila, he was greeted by three airport policemen who escorted him to immigration authorities. Biqing was the subject of a complaint by the PAL cabin crew who accused him of rudeness and trying to bully them prior to take-off back in Shanghai.

Josef Randall Tolentino led the PAL crew as they filed their complaint against the Chinese tourist. Tolentino recalled that Biqing barged into the aircraft galley and grabbed a hot towel right over the shoulders of the crew. He looked at Tolentino and whisked the hot towel towards his face. Flight Purser Catherine Guinto who witnessed the incident didn't waste any time warning Biqing against misbehaviour on board an aircraft. But it did little to help as Biqing maintained his rude and arrogant demeanour. He even shouted at Shanghai ground staff to apologize to the crew.  The cabin crew of PR337 wanted to off load Biqing prior to departing Shanghai but the request was rejected.

Tolentino decided to take matters into his own hands and upon arrival at NAIA Terminal 2, he filed a formal complaint against Biqing. After reviewing the purser's report and listening to Tolentino's complaint, Philippine immigration officers decided to deport Biqing and put him on the first available flight back to Shanghai. Tolentino proclaimed on his Facebook page, "Let this small act and incident show the people of China that they cannot mistreat Filipinos and get away with it!"
