Philippine Airlines will roll out solutions from the Amadeus Travel Intelligence Portfolio that will help the airline to better analyse its business performance, revenue, and identify possible areas of expansion in preparation for its planned expansion into Europe.

"We are committed to retaining our position at the forefront of the industry in the Asian region and this is key to our fleet modernization, network expansion, and service innovation programme," said Ramon Ang, President of PAL. "It is important for us to be able to base our network planning and marketing decisions on complete and reliable data that Amadeus solutions offer."

In a statement, Amadeus announced that PAL has selected the Amadeus Market Information and Amadeus Air Traffic solutions reports, which work in unison to offer insights into global market conditions. The data will help the airline to drive revenue growth and to increase the airline's market share as it seeks to expand internationally. Amadeus Air Traffic has the ability to estimate air passenger volume for any origin and destination worldwide. It mines data from various sources including online sales for airlines, low cost carrier data, global distribution systems, airport and civil aviation organization data. This will enable Philippine Airlines to monitor global market dynamics and to identify profitable routes while developing a more effective sales and marketing plan. The software will evaluate PAL's current routes in addition to identifying possible new routes including the best connections for long haul flights.

Amadeus will also be providing Philippine Airlines with consulting and training services to teach the airline how to analyze the data and use the new solutions in the most effective way.

"Travel intelligence is a critical asset in a fast-moving, fragmented industry like air travel. However, it is not only about having data, it's also about having the industry knowledge and analytical capability to turn it into valuable business insights," said Hazem Hussein, Head of Airline Commercial for Amadeus Asia Pacific. "Amadeus has all three which puts us in a unique position in the industry to help our airline customers understand their business as well as the challenges and opportunities in the market."

Philippine Airlines will finally be able to optimize its planning and scheduling according to true demand and predict volatile market changes using the data to make accurate estimates of air passenger volume for any origin and destination worldwide which will also help to optimize and support existing routes like PAL's Manila to Toronto service.

  2. Hello!
As of this time, there are no flights yet between any points in Europe to Manila with Philippine Airlines.
There are plans to commence flights but these are still in the initial stages and no definite schedules have been made nor tickets being sold for PAL flights.
    Regards!

  3. Try Expedia.com, Orbitz.com and travelocity.com, you'll find Competitive airfares. And you'll be surprised that PAL airfares are too expensive compared to other carriers.

  4. Hi. The perception that PAL fares are too expensive is not entirely true. Try to check their website at philippineairlines.com and you will be surprised that they have fares that are even competitive with that of low-cost carriers' fares.
