Philippine Airlines Opens New Mabuhay Lounge

Passengers travelling on board Philippines Airlines' Mabuhay Class are now able to experience a higher level of service on the ground as the airline introduces its latest service enhancement, the new Mabuhay Lounge.

The new Mabuhay Lounge was designed by a Singapore-based interior design firm to incorporate best-in-class amenities in the 520-square meter business class lounge. Highlights include a dining area, reception area, buffet table, library, mini-theatre, and restrooms. According to Ramon Ang, President of Philippine Airlines, the new Mabuhay Lounge is designed to provide an exceptional rest and dining experience within its warm and inviting atmosphere from the rich contemporary design features. "This new Mabuhay Lounge is just one of many improvements we are working on at Philippine Airlines," said Ang. "With this new lounge, we are keeping in step with the world's leading and best airlines. We offer our valued passengers a pleasant experience, marked by warm and hospitable service, and high-quality amenities and features." He added that the new lounge is a way for the airline to extend the brand of service that PAL has become known for to passengers before they even board their flight.

The design of the reception area is punctuated by sun beams that are reminiscent of the Philippine Airlines logo. The reception area features storage space for both bags and coats while the dining area is equipped to accommodate as many as 80 Mabuhay Class passengers. The buffet table features an extensive selection of delectable culinary creations.

A wide selection of reading materials is available in the in-house library for those that are seeking some peace and relaxation. For those who wish to get a head start on their in-flight entertainment before even taking off, the mini-theatre is a must featuring aircraft-inspired seats and cabin like interiors. The entertainment is inspired by PAL's "Flights of Fancy" in-flight entertainment selection.

Since the San Miguel Group took over management of Philippine Airlines, the carrier has plotted a course to enhance competitiveness by raising the standards of passenger service in an attempt to bring the level of service excellence in line with other international carriers serving the region.
