Royal Brunei currently operates a daily flight between Brunei and Manila. Beginning on October 23, the carrier plans to upgrade two of its weekly Manila services using a 255-seat Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Under the latest schedule update which is current until the end of November 2013, the 787 Dreamliner flights will operate to Manila every Wednesday and Saturday.

“We are delighted to officially launch the B787 Dreamliner in commercial service – a new breed of aircraft, designed and built for efficiency and unparalleled passenger comfort. Passengers can now look forward to a great Dreamliner flight experience," said Dermot Mannion, Deputy Chairman of Royal Brunei. "As a boutique airline, we are always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our passengers and we are confident the Dreamliner will achieve just that.”

Royal Brunei's Boeing 787 is scheduled to arrive in Manila at 2:05pm every Wednesday and Saturday before departing once again at 3:05pm back to Bandar Seri Begawan. The carrier is banking on the Boeing 787-8 to help lower its unit costs and reduce losses across its network. It remains unclear if the carrier will continue to operate the aircraft beyond the end of November on its Manila route. Royal Brunei currently operates the smallest fleet of widebody aircraft of any Southeast Asian carrier.
