Russia Dispatching Six Aircraft to the Philippines with Aid
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on Monday that Russia is ready to help the Philippines with relief efforts in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. "We are commiserating with the people and government of the Philippines and are ready to provide comprehensive relief aid," said Lavrov.

The Russian government is currently preparing six aircraft including four Il-76 heavy transport aircraft to fly to the Philippines. If a formal request is made, Russian authorities will also dispatch a team of 200 rescuers and six canine teams to assist in search and rescue operations in collapsed buildings in the disaster stricken areas.
