Cebu Pacific Expanding to Saudi Arabia
Following the return of Philippine Airlines to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Civil Aeronautics Board has revealed that Cebu Pacific is also planning to serve the two Saudi cities of Riyadh and Dammam as the airline attempts to expand its presence in the Middle East.

The Philippine low cost carrier recently submitted an application to the Civil Aeronautics Board requesting permission to impose a fuel surcharge on international passengers bound for Riyadh and Dammam from Manila. The surcharge on each route would amount to $105 per passenger.
Airlines are permitted by the local regulator to impose a fuel surcharge as a means of recovering losses resulting from rises in jet fuel prices. The decision comes after the Philippines successfully renegotiated air service agreements with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in 2012. That paved the way for Philippine carriers to expand flights in the region after the number of flight entitlements permitted to service each nation doubled.
Cebu Pacific launched its first ever long haul flight direct to Dubai on October 7 utilising its brand new 436-seat Airbus A330-300 aircraft while Philippine Airlines recently reinstated service to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh, and Dammam in just the last two months.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a major hub for overseas Filipino workers with an estimated 1.8 million Filipino workers currently employed in Saudi Arabia.
its ok if CEB can provide better service than PAL, PAL's new A330-300 used in KSA are the most basic plane, cramp seats of 3-3-3 configuration instead of standard 2-4-2, no individual/centralized audio/video entertainment system, very few lavatories, no upgrade to exit row seats, 10 hrs of boring flight, its very cheap airfare even at peak season but if u can pay a little more for a comfortable flight better take other airlines than PAL
ReplyDeleteit is configured for economy seats.. same as cebu pacific bound for dubai. no entertainment audio/video.
Deleteit's like that for a reason, and its because it an economy flight, go for Emirates, Qatar Airways if you need those features. for me im happy i could go for a vacation in less than 20K Php roundtrip
Deleteagree..
ReplyDeleteSir promo po b kau ngaun..pwd p book May 2015 p uwi ko....next year
DeleteThanks to PAL & Cebu Pacific for giving OFW a chance to fly home with less fare..We can add more 10hrs in NOT SO inconvinient flight just to see our love ones..For those who can avail Business Class, Go ahead and stop criticizing, its not helping anyways.
ReplyDeleteAny idea folks when CEB will start their flight to/from Riyadh?
ReplyDeleteI would rather fly PAL.
ReplyDeleteI had the chance to fly with PAL last december 2013 for a fare of 900+SR. To think that it was a peak season, it should have gone higher. So, for those filipinos who have been so lucky to have good salary, who can avail of a higher cost of ticket like 4500 to 6500, go ahead, anyway you are still seating in an economy class with the expensive fare. If you really wanted to be comfortable go to a business class. Let me hear you cry once you buy your ticket.
ReplyDeleteTo the fact that the only difference is the audio/videowhich PAL does not have compare to other airlines. I can use my ipad to watch and hear my preffered audio/video. HONESTLy, the only thing I dont like is Palaging Late and flight ng PAL!!!hehehe
When is the Cebu Pacific flight starts in Riyadh?
ReplyDeleteearly to mid of August 2014.
DeleteIn behalf of 100 kabayan candidates..
ReplyDeleteWhen is the Cebu Pacific flight starts in Riyadh?
Nobody seems to know the answer for when the CEB flight RUH to MNL will start.
ReplyDeletestill under preparation.. but the target is Mid of August 2014.. 5 flight per week RUH-MNL, and 3 flights per week in DMM-MNL, they are waiting for the delivery of other A330. to be the 5th one.
DeleteWe are all very Excited when the CEB flight start in mid of August......Hurry up CEB....we are waiting...
ReplyDeletemine is a company sponsored ticket, and i don't care about the ticket price. i would go for COMFORT even for a 13 - 14 hour flight as long as you arrive manila not wanting to avail wheelchair service for terrible cramped seats for a 10 hour flight!!!
