Cebu Pacific: Third A330 Flying to Davao and Cebu

Cebu Pacific, the largest budget carrier in the Philippines, says that it will take delivery of a third 436-seat Airbus A330-300 aircraft next month. The aircraft will be deployed on routes from Manila to Cebu and Manila to Davao between February 25 and June 8.

According to a statement released by the airline, the new aircraft will be deployed on one flight between Manila and Cebu and two flights between Manila and Davao. The airline will be increasing seat capacity up to 436 seats on the two routes with the addition of the A330. Cebu Pacific currently operates 179-seat Airbus A320 aircraft on the routes.

"We look forward to serving Cebu and Davao guests on our newest A330 aircraft, and offering A330 travel products such as CEB Air Wi-Fi," said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Distribution. "These additional seats are just in time for the Philippine summer season, so we encourage guests to book their flights in advance for the most travel savings."

Iyog added that the new aircraft would not only increase the number of seats available to Davao and Cebu, but also help the airline to keep fares low by employing Airbus' fuel-saving technology. Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific intends to strengthen its presence in the domestic market by the addition of new daily frequencies between Manila and Bacolod, Puerto Princesa, and Zamboanga. In addition, the carrier will also be introducing three more weekly frequencies between Manila and General Santos. The additional flights will operate between February 25 and June 8 using Cebu Pacific's A320 fleet.

  1. I flew the Cebu Pacific A330 to Seoul. It was the most uncomfortable flight I ever had. I refused to retur. And bought a ticket on another airline, operating a so an A330. The seating was much better on the other airline, even though I had to pay more. But at least I could sit without my knees banging the seat in front of me! Cebu Pacifis, never again!

  2. And another unsatisfied customer. An exaggeration if you ask me. Must be a first timer on board a low cost carrier. The A330s are actually roomier than the A320s.
