Philippine Airlines, Tigerair Philippines, and Cebu Pacific have taken steps to reassure Thailand bound passengers that flights to Bangkok and Phuket continue to operate as scheduled in spite of martial law being declared in Thailand by the Thai military.

In a statement released to passengers, Cebu Pacific said, "Our flights to and from Bangkok and Phuket, Thailand continue to operate as scheduled. Suvarnabhumi Airport and Phuket International Airport are still open at this time."

However, passengers travelling to the Philippines from Bangkok have been advised to allow an additional three to four hours to commute to Suvarnabhumi Airport because of the martial law. "There may be check points, road closures, and traffic diversion in some areas," said Cebu Pacific. "We're continuously monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary."

As a courtesy to concerned passengers, Cebu Pacific is permitting any passengers with flight reservations to and from Thailand between May 22 and June 5 to cancel their booking for a full refund or to reschedule their flight within 30 days of the original departure date at no extra charge.

Philippine Airlines issued an advisory to its passengers that its two daily flights between Bangkok and Manila are operating normally as scheduled. The airline confirmed that flights PR 730, PR 736, PR 731, and PR 737 will continue to operate as long as domestic and international flights at Suvarnabhumi Airport remain normal.

Meanwhile, Tigerair Philippines advised its passengers travelling between Clark International Airport and Bangkok that their flights will also continue to operate as scheduled. However, if passengers wished to change their travel plans, the budget carrier will be permitting cancellations with full refunds or free rebooking for flights scheduled between May 23 and June 5.

If you are travelling between Thailand and the Philippines, it is highly recommended to check the status of your flight before leaving for the airport.
