PR116 and PR117 will no longer fly between Manila and Vancouver effective March 16 2016.  These are standalone flights between the two cities that do not continue to or commence from a third city.  They operate every Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  PR116 departs Manila at 7 pm and arrives in Vancouver at 4.15 pm.  The return leg, PR117 departs Vancouver at 11.45 pm and arrive back in Manila at 4.35 am.  These flights are operated with a Boeing 777-300ER (77W).

With the removal of the standalone flights, the number of flights from Manila to Vancouver will stand at just 8 times a week.  PR118, which flies a Manila-Vancouver-Toronto route, will continue to fly four times a week every Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.  The return leg, PR119, will also fly out on these days but will arrive in Vancouver the next day to pick up passengers there before continuing to Manila.  These flights also use a 77W.

The other flights involving Vancouver, PR126 and PR127, also continue to fly four times a week.  PR126 flies on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  It has a Manila-Vancouver-New York JFK routing.  PR127 flies from New York JFK airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.  These flights utilise an Airbus A340-300 (A343).  PAL has full rights to carry passengers solely travelling between New York's JFK Airport and Vancouver.

The removal of standalone Vancouver flights will come one day after PAL launches a new Cebu-Los Angeles service.  The A343 will be utilised on these flights.  Although Airlineroute.net stated that the removal of these flights is due to fleet redeployment, it is still not yet known where the freed-up 77Ws will be reassigned to then.

  1. Will the lone 777 be utilized on the LAX-MNL as an add on replacing the A343 to make it all 777s ?

  2. The MNL-JFK flights will be converted to 77Ws. MNL-YVR standalone will be ceased. MNL-YYZ will be reduced 3 times weekly so with these changes, MNL-YYZ will receive daily flights which will continue to YYZ and JFK.

    1. YVR will receive daily flights, not YYZ. 3 flights a week continue to YYZ while 4 will continue to JFK, all on the 77W

  3. Hindi na PAL news ito! Wala talagang ibubuga ang PAL dahil Canadians and CanFils prefer competitions like CX, AC and other 4 to 5-star carriers serving North America and Southeast Asia. You are just wasting your drools and time. When LAS Vegas route was abandoned by PR, that was the end of the story. Leave PAL alone now!
