Cebu Pacific Launches First US Destination, Flights to Guam Now on Sale

Cebu Pacific, the nation's largest low cost carrier, has confirmed its commitment to launch flights to the United States with the official announcement that it will begin flying to Guam in March. Earlier this week, Cebu Pacific launched its first US route with all-in fares between Manila and Guam for as low as P2,500.

The flights are expected to begin on March 15 with Cebu Pacific operating four weekly flights to Guam from Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. Flights will be operated by the carrier's Airbus A320 aircraft. Cebu Pacific is now the only low-cost carrier flying between Guam and the Philippines.

Flights will be operated every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Each flight will depart Manila at 3:45am and arrive in Guam at 10:15am. The return trip will depart Guam at 12:30pm, and arrive back in Manila at 2:55pm.

"Having Guam in our network sets us off on another expansion path across the Pacific," said Lance Gokongwei, CEO of Cebu Pacific. "With the launch of Guam, we offer fares that are up to 83% lower than other airlines. Fares this low can only mean more tourists to both countries, more Filipinos visiting home, and more opportunities for everyone."

Cebu Pacific believes that the Manila to Guam route is currently underserved compared to other destinations with even smaller Filipino populations. At present, 26 percent of Guam's population is Filipino. Currently, United Airlines and Philippine Airlines offer 5,900 weekly seats between Manila and Guam. Cebu Pacific will add an additional 1,440.

Cebu Pacific is once again banking on its lowest fares to stimulate demand and increase traffic between the two destinations. When promo fares to Guam are not available, Cebu Pacific's year-round all-in fares to Guam will start at just P7,197, which is forty percent lower than its competitors.

  1. Disadvantage - PAL - if it is a non-stop flight MNL/GUM/MNL.... but if it is a stopover from HNL or LAX, then there is no problem. UAL has no problem bcz it is a stopover from HNL and mainland USA.
    Kudos, Cebu Pacific!

    1. You must be referring to traffic or passengers flown, right?
I agree, the Guam/Manila market is very limited and to see airlines half-full due to competition is not "healthy market" at all!

  2. This should be a big market for Pinoys who want to vacation to Guam provided that USA visa should be waived for such Pinoys, why? Because they could not overstay in Guam Island or attempt to become illegals by planning and attempting to go to the other US territories....the vast Pacific Ocean is really wide and no one can swim or escape as it is a real risky thing to do. Do not commit suicide, folks.

    1. OMG....swimming from Guam to Honolulu would take you weeks and even months because the distance when flying by jet is seven long hours - length of Singapore to Tokyo! Wow!

  3. I want to see Cebu Pathetic flop on this route. Stay off the USA.

  4. Why fly 5J when a ticket with PAL is just more pricey by just P2,000 and get far more better leg room and service

  5. Trust Mr Hong Kong to make a senseless comment. He appears to lack sufficient intelligence to realise CEB is one of Asia's most successful LCCs

  6. Folks, this is a free-market economy, so stop fighting! Cebu Pacific's air fare to that destination appears interesting to me, so I will try to buy one RT ticket in May, 2016 to see that Guam Island, a historic place (Magellan's first destination before heading to Limasawa) and to visit Pinoy relatives working in US bases there! Who knows, I can also plan with my cousins to open a "beer house" and carinderia pilipina in anticipation of the influx of Pinoys to the historic island? Why beer house? It is like Olongapo or Clark where you find thousands of air force base service and military men... Please stop fighting boys and girls. Just go to Guam! For the moneyed brats, use UAL and PAL, for those who are "poorer" and those thrifty Ilocanos and Pampangos (no offense), use Cebu Pacific, very simple! Do not mind Mr. Hongkong's ugly business, bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha.
