Philippine Airlines intends to service the route four times per week. "The launching of the Manila-Guangzhou route aims to further strengthen the strong times between the two cities," said PAL President Ramon Ang. "This will allow business travelers and tourists the chance to spend time in the Philippines, and hop to any of our domestic or international destinations."
PAL's current roster of Chinese destinations include Xiamen, Macau, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing. Philippine Airlines first flew the route to Guangzhou back in 1979 aboard a Boeing 727-200. The flight set to launch on July 16 will be operated by an Airbus A320-200.
Philippine Airlines is in the process of rolling out a rapid expansion to twelve new cities that will see the airline fly to new destinations in the Middle East, Australia, and Asia by the end of the year.
