Cebu Pacific A330 Headed for Hong Kong

In an effort to meet increasing demand on its Manila to Hong Kong route, Cebu Pacific has announced that it will introduce its new A330-300 aircraft on one of its daily flights between Manila and Hong Kong beginning on September 16, 2013.

Cebu Pacific flight 5J 118 and 5J 119 will see an upgrade from its current 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft to the 436-seat A330. This represents an increase in seats available by 36 percent. However, the upgrade is only temporary and flights will be only operated by the A330 until October 4.

The time frame for the upgrade is scheduled to coincide with the delivery of Cebu Pacific's second Airbus A330-300 aircraft from France in early September. The airline received its very first A330 in June which presently operates routes from Manila to Seoul and Singapore. The second A330 will be operating temporarily to Hong Kong before being deployed on the airline's first long haul route to Dubai on October 7.

Cebu Pacific currently offers six flights daily to Hong Kong with four originating in Manila, and one from Clark and Cebu. Direct service is also offered from Iloilo twice per week. "There is a great degree of interest in travel to Hong Kong," said Candice Iyog, VP of Marketing & Distribution. "To date, we offer guests the most number of routes to Hong Kong, providing many travelers from all over the Philippines fast and convenient access to this popular international destination."

For travellers wanting a ride on Cebu Pacific's new long-haul aircraft, the airline is offering a P999 seat sale until August 7, 2013 for travel between September 15 and November 30. Cebu Pacific plans to operate a total of six brand new Airbus A330 aircraft by 2015. The airline will be launching the first direct flight between Manila and Phuket, Thailand on August 16, 2013.
