Although Macau is already served by other Philippine carriers, AirAsia Zest will be the only airline offering a direct connection between the Philippines and Miri, Malaysia, a major hub for oil and gas. "AirAsia Zest is staying true to our commitment to give Filipinos more choices, better value, and enhanced service," said Joy Caneba, Chief Operating Officer of AirAsia Zest.

In an action packed week full of three different route launches, AirAsia Zest launched its first flight from Manila to Macau operating under the flight number Z2088 with an all-Filipino crew and 147 passengers on board. The airline has been aggressively marketing the new route with P1 fare promos with all-in fares dipping as low as P498. The new Macau route followed the launch of the airline's new Cebu-Kuala Lumpur route while the route to Miri, Malaysia launched on December 7.

“In partnership with AirAsia, we offer passengers super affordable fares and the strength of our combined network that extends beyond Macau to over 120 exciting destinations in Asia, China, India and Australia,” said Caneba.
