Budget carrier Cebu Pacific has reduced its capacity to Seoul for the month of May. The airline has been operating daily flights between Manila and Seoul Incheon but plans to reduce the frequency to four weekly flights.

Two of the four weekly flights will be operated by the airline's 179-seat Airbus A320, while the remaining two flights will be operated by the 436-seat Airbus A330. The current reduction in flights is only scheduled until the end of May. However, it remains unclear if daily flights will be restored in June.

Cebu Pacific was recently one of 12 carriers recognized by the Incheon International Airport for its contribution in helping the airport achieve its ninth consecutive ACI Airport Service Quality Award. Cebu Pacific was presented with Incheon Airport's 2013 Best Airline Service Award. The airline joins eleven other carriers that were recognised for their contributions to improving Incheon Airport's services and operations.
The other carriers recognised included: Asiana Airlines, Air China, United Airlines, Lufthansa, Emirates Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Air Macau, Jeju Air, and Shenzhen Airlines.

The airlines were chosen among carriers that have served Incheon Airport with regular flights for more than two years and transport more than 50,000 passengers from the airport annually. "We wholeheartedly congratulate Incheon International Airport for a successful 2013, and look forward to developing our Incheon operations further, for the benefit of our passengers," said Jorenz Tanada, Cebu Pacific VP for Corporate Affairs.

Cebu Pacific currently offers flights from both Cebu and Manila to Seoul Incheon. It also operates four weekly flights to Busan from Manila and Cebu. The Philippine government recently announced that it was planning to re-open air talks with South Korea.
