Cebu Pacific and Airbus Celebrate Tenth Anniversary

Cebu Pacific, the nation's largest low-cost carrier, celebrated their tenth anniversary with European aircraft maker, Airbus. The Philippine carrier accepted delivery of its very first Airbus aircraft in 2005.

Cebu Pacific began its relationship with Airbus in May 2005 when it accepted delivery of two Airbus A320 aircraft as part of a lease contract with CIT Leasing. The two aircraft began service on June 3, 2005 between Manila and Davao. The route became the first Airbus route to be operated by Cebu Pacific.

Airbus aircraft would eventually replace Cebu Pacific's former fleet of Douglas DC 9-30 aircraft and Boeing 757-200 aircraft. Ten years later, Cebu Pacific now operates a combined fleet of 47 Airbus aircraft that includes the A319, A320, and A330.

In addition, the carrier is in the process of completing a massive refleeting program that will include the delivery of a further 37 brand-new Airbus A320 and A321 neo aircraft up to 2021. When the refleeting is complete, Cebu Pacific will operate one of the youngest and modern fleets in the world.
