  1. Manila-Caticlan-Manila.

The flight departed on schedule, being the 1st flight to Caticlan. It was a fast flight arriving almost 15mins ahead of schedule. Very good on that aspect. The crew were smartly dressed although not much of passenger interaction because it was a very short flight.
The price was reasonable although not much of passenger interaction due because it was a very short flight.

  2. Manila - Naga - Manila
    February 2012
    formerly operated under AirPhil Express
Outbound flight was perfect and smooth. We departed Manila on time and arrived in Naga ahead of schedule. The problem was with the inbound flight from Naga to Manila, the flight was canceled due to technical problems causing chaos at the airport. Most of the passengers were offered food and alternate mode of transport. We opted for the 12-hour bus ride to give way to people who need to be in Manila for their connecting international flights (OCWs and foreign tourists, etc...). The local airport staff in Naga advised all passengers that took the bus that we can rebook our canceled ticket to any domestic destination and it is valid for 1 year. However, when I tried to rebook a flight June 2012 for an August 2012 trip, I was advised by their Customer Service Agent that rebooking for a canceled flight was only allowed 1 month from the original flight date. Bad customer service and inconsistent company policy. Hopefully, it won't be the same under PALExpress.

  3. Manila-Naga
    August 3, 2013

Our flight from Manila to Naga was efficient and on-time. We even arrived early. I was half expecting us to be delayed as there were heavy rains in Manila but I was pleased to see that everything went better than according to plan. The aircraft was clean and comfortable and the crew was very friendly and professional. My only disappointment is that PAL Express advertises complimentary snacks aboard all flights except Q400 aircraft. I understand that these flights are much shorter but quite honestly, how long does it take to just hand out a package of peanuts or cookies? To me, this is the only inconsistency in the PAL service. If there is no time to do a complimentary snack service, why does the crew have time to sell snacks on board?

  4. Manila-Kalibo-Manila

Delayed for more than 2 hrs! No meals were given to compensate for the delayed.. Pal express staff who booked my PAL holidays package tour did not even bother to inform me that I don't have a check-in baggage allowance..
Is this really an international airline?? PAL management should do something to improve their services..

  5. This is the worst airline ever!! A bunch of scammers and will try to rip you off in anyway they can, especially if you are a foreigner.
My last trip to Mindanao i flew in from Canada to Manila and caught a connecting flight the next day to Butuan....My international flight allows two bags at 50 pounds per, plus a carry-on. Much to my surprise when i checked-in for my flight to Butuan my ticket was allowed NO baggage...What kind of airline would sell a ticket that has NO BAGGAGE allowance?? Who the hell travels with NO baggage???
I explained to the staff that my international flight gave my a baggage allowance for my flight there to Manila...they didn't care at all and said to me what i wanted to do....They charged me over 9000peso for my baggage and i also explained to them that most of my baggage was donations to a school I support and sponser when i go to Butuan....Again, they didn't care, just wanted the money, just pay pay pay!!!
This is how they treat people that try to help their country? it's disgusting and the owners of this airline should be embarrassed and ashamed.
Never fly this airline ever, i certainly will NEVER fly this airline ever again!!!

    1. If you booked your two flights on one ticket via the carrier from Canada to Manila, then you should be able to have the same baggage allowance. however, if the two flights were booked seperately , i.e Canada to Manila then Manila to Butuan then the baggage limits are those of the individual airlines. If the former, then complain to the airline carrying you from Canada to Manila for a refund. For example, we went to Hawaiii earlier this year , CEB-MNL-HON. As it was booked as one ticket, we had the full USA bag allowance from Cebu. If I had just booked MNL-HON , then found a cheap flight CEB-MNL, we would have been stuck with paying for excess on CEB-MNL leg.

  6. The "Seamless Experience" is anything but that. From Vancouver, BC, Canada my wife and I went to visit Iloilo City last August 2015. When we arrived in PAL, Terminal 2, Manila we went to pick up our baggages at the carousel downstairs. There were so many unclaimed boxes in the carousel area. We were told to buy a "pre-paid baggage allowance" coupon/ticket because from abroad 1 passenger is allowed 2 X 50 lbs suitcases/boxes + 1 hand carry of 15 lbs and a computer/ladies bag. The domestic ticket only allows a passenger for 1 - 20 kg box baggage. We arrived at 8:45 p.m. or 2045 hrs so the PAL counters were closed upstairs until the next working day. We waited outside in the August heat, tired and sweaty....
Our flight to Iloilo City was on 4:30 a.m. or 0430 hrs so we waited for the PAL counters to open. We learned that we will now be handled by PAL Express a subsidiary of PAL International that brought us to Manila. PAL Express charged us P3,800 for the extra 50 lb box we have brought from Vancouver. We were not able to buy the "pre-paid baggage allowance" and paid the freight for the 20 kg at P190/kg. When we went home we only have 1 baggage each. That is another frustrating story.
For International passengers proceeding domestic north or south of Manila International be sure to claim your baggages and check them in yourself in the domestic counter even if you have to pay through the nose for your extra baggage. You don't want to arrive in Davao City waiting for 2 hours at the carousel for your baggages that are still in Terminal 2.
You will not escape this twilight zonal episode as all Philippine domestic flights are handled by PAL Express (even if you took other international airline from abroad, aside from PAL International like JAL or Cathay).
The TRIP BACK...Our flight PR 116 was scheduled to depart at 7:00 p.m. or 1900 hrs from PAL T2, Manila to Vancouver International. At 6:00 p.m. Mr Boss Short Hogg from PAL announced there will be a document check of all passengers for Vancouver, Canada. We boarded at 6:45 while the document check was still going on. Our plane departed Terminal 2 at 8:00 p.m., one hour LATE of the schedule.
When we returned to Vancouver we only have 1 baggage each. PAL International have fuel savings from us but we never got any credit for these. We checked in early so our baggages were probably loaded first. When we arrived in Vancouver, BC, Canada our baggages were the last to be unloaded because we waited for 2 hours for our baggages at the carousel. Why would the airline punish passengers who checked in early by loading their baggages in the bowels of the plane and unload them last ???? Tired but glad to be back from the orient zone.
That is the "Seamless Experience" that PAL International is peddling here in North America. Instead it is an experience that taxes your patience after you have flown for 14 hours, tired, sweaty and anxious to arrive at your destination.
